Thinking About "Running Away"?
October 9, 2010
So you're thinking about running away, huh? May I say, I believe it
will be one of the best decisions you've ever made. It's not going to
be a visit to the spa or a fruity drink on the beach, but hearing about
running journeys (especially running journeys from fellow moms), I've
come to realize that there is not much to matching the feelings you
encounter during and after a good run - make that a good "RUN away".
I urge you, if you've ever considered running at all or if you've tried running and it just didn't "take" for whatever reason or if you've been a successful runner of any distance and then just let time and schedules chomp up that running activity, I urge you to give it a go. Don't talk yourself out of it before you even give the idea and consideration a chance. And if you've got some concerns or questions, give me an email or call and I'll tell you the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
We're not talking about spending grueling hours on end working out and hurting your body. I truly believe that running, practiced the right way, is a wonderfully healthy activity that almost anyone can participate . . . and enjoy. Running is a unique sport that focuses both on individual achievement and on group enjoyment. It's just great like that. And it's as flexible a sport as they come. Need some alone time - ok, run alone. Need some friend therapy - run with a buddy. Need to zone out and relax - run (safely) with your iPod with classical music. Need to work out some frustration - run fast with some serious tunes. You get the idea. Running can match your mood, but also enhance it for the better.
So let's RUNaway . If you are in The Woodlands, I'd love to coach you and I'll hope to see you at our new Tuesday running group. You've got a really neat journey ahead of you and I'd love to be a part of it. Give me a jingle or email and we'll talk about RUNning away!
